It’s back to normal as we send our latest poster off to the printers. And it is time to share it online too.
All the details are there to make your ticket reservations but you can also go to our Bookings page or read a synopsis of the play in our What’s On page.
Yes, just over six weeks to our first opening night in two years. Rehearsals are well underway but once all the cast read this it is certain that hearts will skip a beat at the realisation that we must be ready in five weeks for set build and dress rehearsals.
It also means that tickets are now on sale!
Nothing has changed on the booking process – you can phone or email to reserve your seats for your preferred night. All we ask is that you bring the correct change to pay on the night if possible and that should you be unable to make it once booked, please let us know so that we can sell the seat.
Booking information can be found on our page here.
After the health restrictions of the last two years we expect to be operating normally with our usual seating plan. Our procedures for performance nights will be reviewed as we get closer to the event.
FlatSpin by Alan Ayckbourn – April 28, 29, 30
A night of romance in her luxurious riverside apartment with the good-looking stranger from next door; How can Joanna possibly go wrong? Except the flat isn’t hers, her name is not Joanna, it’s Rosie (she’s an actress), and heaven knows what the good-looking stranger is really after. Instead of romance comes considerable danger…..Rosie’s only way out is to play the role to the end.
We are all hoping that 2022 will be the year that we return to a form of normality, certainly one that will allow us to perform once again on stage to safe and healthy packed audiences.
We told you that we plan to perform Flatspin in April but more of that next time. Right now we want to tell you about another performance taking place in February that we at Petuaria fully support and recommend you go and see.
One of our members, Sally Morland, has been working very hard to create a show that will raise money for both the Dove House and MacMillan charities.
A Night With the Mime Stars is a show that will feature friends and family (and that includes some of the Petuaria members eager to get back on stage) who will be miming / lip-syncing to popular songs, whilst giving them a humorous spin. It all promises to be an entertaining and fun evening that will raise money for two charities that mean so much to so many people.
It’s a show not to miss and takes place at Blackie’s club in Brough. See the details in the promotion photo and tickets can be obtained from the contacts shown there.
Yes, it’s true. At last. We will be treading those boards once again and welcoming our audiences to live local theatre. So many people have been stopping members to ask – when is the next play? Well we have the answers – read on.
Recently the membership gathered together at The Forum for the first time since March 2020 for our much delayed Annual / Extraordinary General Meeting. One thing was clear – everyone was keen to get back to the stage. The sensible approach would be to wait until after Christmas and the New Year before embarking on a renewed schedule of meetings and rehearsals for a play.
Back at The Forum again
We also agreed that the most sensible choice of play to kick off our return would be Alan Ayckbourn’s FlatSpin. This was the play that was originally scheduled for April 2020, one which we had already been rehearsing and preparing for. It would be a good way of easing our way back in and, having been semi-rehearsed already, more able to cope with any unforeseen circumstances that this winter might still throw at us.
With some necessary casting changes agreed, a renewed performance licence obtained and dates booked at the Elloughton-Brough Village Hall we find ourselves in the position of having at last a plan for our return.
Make sure you have the dates 28th, 29th, 30th April marked in your calendars as tickets are sure to be in demand when we open the box office (probably in the New Year).
Ensure you are subscribed to this website or to our Facebook page for more updates. We look forward to seeing you all in 2022.
