Don’t want to act but still be part of the group? No problem!
Putting on a performance is, of course, so much more than just the acting. We would be lost without all the help we get from members (and non-members too), taking part in all the activities backstage and front-of-house during performances and during the weeks of rehearsal beforehand.
There’s plenty to be done in sourcing props and costumes, designing and eventually building the stage set, preparing sound effects and lighting as well as all our promotional activities.
Some people just love just to bring along their DIY skills (not essential, just willing hands) to help construct the set and set up all the seating and platforms on play week. (And, of course, to take it all down and pack it away afterwards!)
And on play nights we are always keen to have volunteers to help with our popular interval tea and biscuits (included in the ticket price.) Coffee, juice and water are also provided.
And if tea and coffee isn’t your thing and you had something a little more alcoholic in mind, well -you will usually find us in the pub after the play but no, that’s not included in the ticket price!
