About RolePlay
Our middle play returns to the master himself, Alan Ayckbourn, with a quite different comedy. Originally part of the trilogy ‘Damsels in Distress’ this very funny play stands on its own.
Justin and Julie-Ann, hopelessly mismatched in love, are about to introduce their respective parents to each other over dinner – Justin’s upper-crust alcoholic mother and Julie-Ann’s bigoted father and prim mother. Into this doomed scenario drops, quite literally, via the balcony upstairs, Paige Petite, a former lap dancer and her thick gun-toting minder employed by her gangster boyfriend leading to a hilarious clash of cultures and families.
Directed by Jayne Hewson
Cast includes: Tom Fryer, Wendy Fairburn, Nic Johnson, Steve Howland, Dianne Turner, Gill Collins and introducing Gary Vann.
