The wait is over: new season announced

For those of you have eagerly been waiting to find out what our new 2017-18 season will be – wait no longer.

boredom-1977519_960_720Thank you for your patience but as always it has been a challenge to find plays that tick all the boxes, not least the matching of members’ availability.

But now we have obtained scripts and licences to perform and we can announce the programme.

This coming season we are pleased to have found three plays that cover a range of comedy genres from three different playwrights; a lighthearted and sentimental comedy drama from the pen of Peter Gordon, always popular with our audiences; some clever humour from the master, Alan Ayckbourn, with a less well known and quite different play – if you like Ayckbourn you’ll love it. If you don’t like Ayckbourn – you’ll love it.  And finally we bring most of our members onto the stage to bring you an hilarious farce from the master of farce; Ray Cooney.

Right, time to get out pen, stylus or finger and open your diary, online calendar or whatever and reserve your viewing dates.

Generations Apart by Peter Gordon    October 26th, 27th, 28th 2017

RolePlay by Alan Ayckbourn     January 25th, 26th, 27th 2018

It Runs In The Family by Ray Cooney    April 26th, 27th, 28th 2018

Watch out for the next posts which will give full details on each play and our latest ticketing news.

The Season Finale

It was our final episode of The Hallelujah Girls last Saturday which also means it was the Season Finale for the Petuaria Players 2016/2017 programme.  Another three plays produced and now our viewers will just have to wait until October for Season 57.

Meanwhile the Players are taking a welcome few days rest before the process of reading potential plays for next year begins.  We will be continuing to post here with updates and information about the Petuaria Players so keep checking back – or better still why not register your email to get our latest posts straight to your inbox. Georgia on my mind..

An old abandoned church in Eden Falls in the state of Georgia – also known as the Ellloughton-Brough Village Hall stage – is ready to receive The Hallelujah Girls.

The cast have just finished dress rehearsal and are rarin’ to go.  Visit the Spa-Dee-Dah! for your relaxing facial as you stretch those laughter lines,  have yourself a massage of  therapeutic laughter and bathe in a warm glow of fun provided by the Petuaria Players.

Building The Set

Hi y’all. Yes The Hallelujah Girls (and boys) had their very first chance this Sunday to do some rehearsal work on the stage.  We have had a busy few days doing our usual intensive labour of love in building the set, the tiers and seating, preparing the props, setting lighting and sound.

Now we are ready to run the play on stage with our Technical and Dress rehearsals before we get to perform for you starting this Thursday the 27th.

Still some seats left for another evening of value-for-money live entertainment.

The Hallelujah Girls tells the hilarious story of a group of women who, realising that time is precious following the loss of a dear friend, turn an abandoned church into a spa and beauty salon: Spa-Dee-Dah! But Sugar-Lee, their high spirited, determined leader, has her hands full keeping the women motivated and coping with obstacles arising from both the present and the past…

Produced by Richard Bateman

Cast: (order of appearance) Dianne Turner, Barbara Failey, Janet Drewery, Rachel Miller, Gill Collins, Nic Johnson, Rob Newton, Wyn Price.
