Albert Nobbs – the photos

Before the year is out and before Santa comes and does his thing and before Albert Nobbs becomes a memory in our drama archives we shall share a selection of our play photos that were taken during dress rehearsals.

Yes this production was a big effort but we thoroughly enjoyed the demanding rehearsals, laughing all the way at Gordon Steel’s dialogue and hilarious scenes and then feeling the emotion during the dramatic sombre sections. But until you put all of that up on the stage in front of a live audience you cannot be sure if or when people will laugh or cry.

We should not have worried. Everyone loved it, even those who perhaps raised eyebrows at some of the language. The feedback after the show and since has been extremely positive and confirms that this was both a winning and rewarding choice.

Announcement – Date Change

It’s still five months away but we need to inform you that the performance dates for our next play have had to be changed due to cast availability.

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club will now be one week earlier than previously advertised and we must apologise to all those who have already put dates in their calendars or booked in advance.

We will, of course, shortly be contacting all those who have already booked seats and our season ticket holders.

Once again, apologies to those who have just booked and for the inconvenience.

Be sure to follow us on here and get our updates where we will be giving more information about our next production.

And watch out for our report and photos from Albert Nobbs – coming soon.

Last Chance!

We have been getting some excellent feedback and it was a sellout last night Friday).

There are still some seats available for our final performance tonight though if you want to find out for yourself! Leave ‘Strictly’ for catch-up and come and see live entertainment for just £10 including programme and refreshments….

“Absolutely brilliant” “So funny..” “..tears and laughter…”

Albert Nobbs – this week!

Poor old Albert Nobbs. It’s the early 2000’s and retirement has not turned out favourably for this curmudgeonly hen-pecked husband. And it’s about to get worse. This is a comedy that reminds you of Victor Meldrew in One Foot In The Grave blended with the ghostly Blithe Spirit.

Expect plenty of laughter and perhaps a few tears as Connie shows us their long married life together… and beyond.

There are good seats available for Saturday but feel free to ask for Thursday or Friday and we also have a cancellation list.

First night is this Thursday 14th of November.

Gordon Steel’s Albert Nobbs was first performed in 2003 at Hull Truck.
