Lucky Sods – Have you got your tickets?

Don’t forget we are busily taking bookings for our next production: John Godber’s Lucky Sods – so have you reserved yours?

As it’s the first play of the season we also offer season ticket holder deals though the best seats may already be taken by those who get in early, but you won’t know if you don’t ask.

Becoming a SEASON TICKET holder reserves your chosen seats by paying for both plays in advance

The advantages are;

  • Reserves your preferred seat location for both productions on your preferred evening (subject to availability)
  • £20 paid in advance gives you one ticket for each play (Lucky Sods in November and Perfect Wedding next May)
  • Saves the hassle of finding the right money on the night (we only take cash at the door)

Whether you wish to become a 2023/4 season ticket holder or you simply want to book seats for Lucky Sods then simply get in touch – details of how to contact us are shown here on our Book Your Tickets page.

You can read more about this season’s productions here on our What’s On page.

Lucky Sods Rehearsals

Rehearsals are well under way as we head towards our performance dates in mid November of John Godber’s wonderful comedy Lucky Sods.

First performed by the Petuaria Players in 2005 it remained in our memories as one of our favourites. So, with a suitably long gap inbetween, we have decided to run it – and enjoy it – once again, even if those actors in the original who are resurrecting their performances have added a few years on, their youthful looks remain. (Well I had to say that didn’t I 😉). (Hmm, although I didn’t need to add that. )

You Lucky People

You are, because we have a great play for you. Not as lucky as Jean and Morris though, they are truly the lucky sods in our next drama production called – you guessed it – Lucky Sods.

John Godber’s comedy about a couple who win the lottery and the changes that follow from having good luck is a wonderful piece with excellent characters and dialogue. We first performed it back in 2005 and for those members still in the group it held fond memories as a favourite to perform and was a hit with the audiences.

Now in 2023 we are pleased to be bringing it back to the stage this November – a long enough gap in years for those who saw it eighteen years ago and want to re-experience the fun and an opportunity for others to see it for the first time.

When Morris and Jean win millions in the National Lottery – they can’t believe their luck. But the cracks in their marriage widen, their past catches up with them and their relatives become increasingly resentful. Can money buy happiness? Is enough ever enough?
