ALBERT NOBBS by Gordon Steel
November 14th, 15th, 16th

First performed at Hull Truck in 2003, this small cast play, by the same author of our popular production of ‘A Kick In The Baubles’, is often described as a ‘Blithe Spirit for the working class meets One Foot In The Grave. Albert Nobbs will make you cry but mostly make you roar with laughter with its wonderful dialogue that is both painful and funny. Directed by Richard Bateman.
After a life of hard graft, retirement isn’t all what the curmudgeonly Albert expected, bored and nagged by his wife Connie. But Albert’s world is turned upside down by Connie’s sudden death and he struggles to find a reason to carry on – until Connie returns as a ghost to set about organising a fulfilling retirement including some matchmaking…
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International on behalf of Josef Weinberger Ltd. http://www.mtishows.co.uk | http://www.josef-weinberger.com
