The turkey is all gone, the wrapping paper is in the bin and so is the entire stage-set for A Kick In The Baubles:  Sunday morning, and with reasonably clear heads after our post-play party, we dismantled the set and the entire auditorium.  Everything that took three days to assemble took just three hours to disassemble.

Without doubt this play has been an enormous success for the group, proving to be immensely popular with our sell-out audiences.

Coming up soon we will be posting photos of the play, more about our experiences of putting on this particular show and, of course, all about our next production at the end of April.  But in the mean time let us share some of our photos from our uplifting final night.

That’s it! We are ready.  Our final dress rehearsal is over and we are ready to go in front of an audience. Gareth has been giving us last minute guidance and tips – now his work is over and its down to us. Gulp!

Janet and the rest of the production team are all set up: Nic as Stage Manager will be ruling with her usual efficiency backstage, Richard will be hovering over the lighting board and newest and youngest member Reuben will have the challenge of our complex sound set-up.

The cast have that strange balance of excitement, eagerness and nerves but are keen to put all the effort and practice of the last 3 months into action.

Here we are at last. Just over eleven weeks after our first rehearsal for ‘A Kick In The Baubles’, tonight saw our final rehearsal in The Forum before we take the show onto the stage.   And there are only around 15 seats left across the run so full houses are expected.

Everyone was buzzing and now eager to perform in front of an audience.  Well, there are only a few days to wait for that particular form of nervous pleasure….

So what next?  Friday and the weekend will be another form of hard work:  set-building, after which we will be on stage to run our Technical and Dress rehearsals.  If we thought we were busy over the last few weeks with extensive rehearsals and line learning then the two weeks of final rehearsals, set-building and performances are at another level.
